Upcoming Holidays

PAVIR follows the Federal Holiday schedule, so please mark your calendars with the following upcoming holiday.
         Friday, 11/11/16 – Veterans Day
         Thursday, 11/24/16 – Thanksgiving Day

Eligible employees will only receive holiday pay if they are scheduled to work on the holiday as part of their regular schedule. Please note, the PAVIR Administrative office will be closed on this date.

Learn About Your 401(k)

PAVIR HR has scheduled a free group 401(k) educational meeting to review plan basics, investment options and strategies, and tax advantages of investing in a 401(k).  All employees are welcome to attend!  Space is limited so please RSVP.

Individual Retirement Planning

For personalized guidance regarding your retirement, PAVIR is also offering free confidential 30-minute individual retirement planning sessions with a 401(k) advisor.  Limited one on one sessions are available, so please RSVP to reserve a time slot.

PAVIR’s Federally Negotiated Fringe Benefit Rates

In response to feedback from Principal Investigators and the PAVIR Board of Directors, effective 10/1/16, PAVIR will use federally negotiated fringe benefit rates.  PAVIR will apply the approved vacation and fringe benefit rates when charging payroll costs to all PAVIR administered accounts.  Previously, PAVIR administered projects were allocated the actual benefit expenses for each employee’s benefit choices. 

The change toward federally negotiated fringe benefit rates makes it possible to better predict a project’s fringe benefit expenses.  Further, differences in employees’ benefit choices will now be spread across the entire community of 250 PAVIR employees.

2016 Employee Handbook Release

PAVIR published the 2016 Employee Handbook with updates relating to CA and Federal labor law, as well as our PAVIR policies.  The revised version of the handbook is posted on ADP WorkforceNow > Resources > Company Policies.  If you have not already done so, please visit ADP to review and acknowledge receipt of the new handbook.

Benefits Open Enrollment

PAVIR's Open Enrollment period for benefits for calendar year 2017 will be Friday, November 4th – Friday, November 18th.  Open enrollment is the one chance per year for benefit eligible employees to change their benefit elections outside of a qualifying life event.  Please be on the lookout for additional information on benefit plan updates, informational meetings and more!
 

Daylight Saving Time

The end of daylight savings time is fast approaching.  On Sunday, November 6th at 2:00am clocks will be turned back 1 hour.
ACTION ITEM:  Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA)

As of January 1, 2016 all PAVIR employees are required to sign an Employee Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA) to maintain the confidentiality of the VA, third-parties, and PAVIR.
