Labor Day Holiday

PAVIR follows the Federal Holiday schedule, so please mark your calendars with the following upcoming holiday.
Monday, 9/5/16 – Labor Day
Eligible employees will only receive holiday pay if the day is one on which they are normally scheduled to work. Please note, the PAVIR Administrative office will be closed on this date.
Meet David Luther, Director of Human Resources

David Luther joined PAVIR in August as the Director of Human Resources.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Communication / Organizational Behavior from the University of Nevada, Reno.  Most recently, David served as a regional senior HR manager with Progressive Casualty Insurance. 
He is a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Ordnance Branch as a logistics operations and organizational effectiveness officer, holding the rank of Captain. David’s core competencies and interests relate to organizational development with a focus on optimizing leadership and management skills.  He thrives to deliver high quality and timely HR services that balance employee and Principal Investigator’s needs with compliance requirements.  David embraces our mission and enthusiastically adds, “I am thrilled to join an organization whose people exude passion for supporting work that makes a difference in bettering the lives of those who have served this country.” 
 
David joins PAVIR following a 3 year stay in Colorado, prior to which he lived in the Sacramento area for 16 years.  His family traces back to founding settlers of the Yuba City / Marysville area of California, arriving in the state during the gold rush era.

2016 Employee Handbook Release
 
The 2016 PAVIR Employee Handbook, with updates relating to California and Federal labor law, as well as our PAVIR policies, has been published.  The revised version of the handbook is posted on ADP WorkforceNow > Resources > Company Policies.  Please visit ADP to review and acknowledge receipt of the new handbook.

 


 
Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA)

PAVIR.net Has a New Look!

We are pleased to announce that PAVIR.net, the website directed to our PAVIR community, has been given a whole new look and feel.  While PAVIR.org provides an excellent window into who we are and what we do, PAVIR.net is the place to find policies, forms, contact information and more to assist researchers and their staff.  We already have some improvements planned for the future and would love to hear your feedback on how PAVIR.net can be more useful to you.  Please use the link to info@pavir.org at the bottom of each page to communicate your thoughts to us.

Over two years ago when we changed our name we tried to explain how we say the acronym, but we still hear people every day struggling with it.  We pronounce PAVIR exactly like the word “paver” – long “A,” and an “I” like “sir.” 
Benefit Open Enrollment

The Open Enrollment period for calendar year 2017 PAVIR benefits will be announced soon.  Open enrollment is the one chance each year for benefit eligible employees to change their benefit elections outside of a qualifying life event.  Additional information will be available soon!
